A dramatised version of the capture of Bahadur Shah Zafar by the British
This
section contains an account of how Bahadur Shah Zafar was captured by
the British after the troops defending Delhi had been defeated by the
combined forces of the British and the other communities and Princes
supporting the British. The
account is by Hakim Ahsanullah Khan who was the Vizer of Bahadur Shah
Zafar and was also very pro British.
The King had previously protected him from the Army as he was
always suspected of treason to the cause
of the Indians. This
happened in September 1857. |
