In October 1858, the Supreme Govemment decided to
send the King and his immediate family to Rangoon.
The King and his family were moved under armed escort out of Delhi.
Apart from the troops the following made up the group being moved,
this is from the ‘Nominal roll of the state prisoners proceeding to
Calcutta’. 1.
Abu Zafar Bahadur Shah, Shah Gazee, ex-king of Delhi. 2.
Mirza Jawan Bakht , son of the above by ex-queen Zinat
Mahal. 3.
Mirza Shah Abbas, son of the above by Harem Woman. 4.
Zinat Mahal, ex-queen of Dehli. 5.
Nawab Shah Zamani Begum, wife of Mirza Jawan Bakht. 6. Ruqaiya Sultan begum, sister of Nawab Shah 7. Mumtaz Dulhan Begum, mother of Shah Zamani Begum and Ruqaiya
